The Goal of the Church
Jul 5, 2026 • Pastor Keith Tillman
The surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus should be our ultimate prize. The athletic imagery Paul uses—of runners straining toward the finish line, reaching forward with everything they have—paints a vivid picture of the Christian life. Are we pressing forward in our faith, or have we become spiritually stagnant? The concept of 'holy dissatisfaction' emerges as a central theme, not suggesting we lack anything in Christ, but rather calling us to continuously grow in our knowledge and intimacy with Him. We learn that spiritual maturity isn't about reaching some higher plane of Christianity, but about actively pursuing Christ daily, refusing to let anything derail our journey.
