Elders Strengthening the Weak

For the elder, he must focus on helping the spiritually weak and immature become stronger. Since Christian maturity requires a radical reordering of one's priorities, elders of a church must teach this to the congregation and live their own example before the congregation. Spiritual maturity is evidence of being born again. After salvation, every Christian begins the process of spiritual growth with the intent to become spiritually mature. The elder is there to protect and to guide.
