In 1 Timothy 6, we find "godliness with contentment" is the spiritual foundation for stewardship in a believer's life. Those who are content in Christ are not spending their lives trying to fill up empty holes within themselves, but rather share their worldly gain generously "so that they may take hold of that which is truly life."
